BURGLAR TARGETS
PAPA MURPHY'S PIZZA IN MOLINE
March 24, 2011
Papa Murphy’s
Pizza, 3479 Avenue of the Cities in Moline was hit by a cat burglar the
night of March 4th. Entry was made through a dive-up window using a
device to defeat the window track. Once inside, a hidden safe was found
and the drilling began. Numerous broken drill bits were left behind with
holes drilled into the lock face and the door. Despite the burglar's
best efforts, entry was not made to the safe. However, money was
taken from elsewhere in the business. Illinois State Crime Scene
Investigators processed the scene and valuable evidence was recovered.
Crime Stoppers has up to$1000 cash if you call us on our tip line (309)
762-9500 with the name of the individual responsible for this crime. You

COPPER THIEVES
RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE
March 4, 2011
The recent
copper thefts in Moline at the old public library and at Floorcrafters
have officers on the lookout. These thieves, who cause thousands of
dollars in damage just to scrap the copper they steal for pennies, are a
growing problem for area departments. Eleven combined thefts have been
reported so far this year in Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island.
Police ask that you report any suspicious vans or trucks you may see
around a closed business. If you can obtain a license plate number for
the suspicious vehicle this would help police. A call to the Crime
Stoppers tip line (309) 762-9500 could find you with up to $1000 cash if
your information leads to an arrest of these thieves.

STOLEN GUNS
UNACCOUNTED FOR
February 17, 2011
During a
recent felony investigation Davenport Police uncovered a theft of over
fifty handguns, rifles, and shotguns from a residence. The burglary
occurred while the owners were away and Quad City area police along with
agents from the bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) have joined
in the hunt for these weapons. Knowing firearms such as these often make
it into the hands of those who cannot buy them legally makes this
recovery all the more important. ATF is offering a $2500 reward to
anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction
of the individual or individuals responsible for this crime.
Additionally, Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 for information that
leads to the arrest of those responsible. Help us take these weapons off
the street and make a tidy little sum for the effort by calling the
Crime Stoppers tip line 309-762-9500.

SALVATION ARMY
KETTLES STOLEN IN MOLINE
December 10, 2010
How many
suspects does it take to walk away with not only the Salvation Army
Kettle but the six foot stand it was padlocked to? Witnesses say one. On

Cities, Moline. Witnesses thought it odd to see the suspect dragging the
Salvation Army stand complete with red kettle full of donations. The
bell ringer had just stepped inside the store to use the restroom
believing the kettle was safe. It happened again on the 9th of December
around 3:00 PM outside the JC Penney’s at South Park Mall when the
ringer stepped away for a moment. Crimes such as these during the
Christmas season bring out the giving side of the Crime Stoppers Board.

HELP POLICE - BE
PROACTIVE
October 15, 2010
It
will soon be our favorite time of the year in law enforcement.
Oddly, we like the snow and cold of January and February because bad
guys tend to stay in the house where it is warm. Until the snow and
cold, car burglaries, armed robberies, and even bank robberies will
take us into the holidays. You can help police by keeping your eyes
and ears open and ready to write down what you see. Keep a small
notepad and a pen close to you in the car. If you see a suspicious
vehicle or people running toward cars racing from a parking lot
WRITE DOWN THE PLATE. So often our witnesses try to remember the
plate only to give us the first number or letter. If you find
yourself sitting in a parking lot, look around. Be aware of your
surroundings and help us by becoming the eyes and ears of the
community. Of course we will pay you up to $1000 for any information
that leads to a felony arrest when you call the Crime Stoppers tip
line 309-762-9500.

"NEIGHBORLY" BURGLARS HITTING QC
June 17, 2010
In the past
few weeks area departments have experienced what we are calling the
“Home For Sale” scam. When a home is listed for sale our suspect knocks
on a home in the same neighborhood and informs whoever answers the door
that they just purchased the listed house. While keeping this good
neighbor engaged in conversation others break into their home and steal
whatever they can as quickly as they can. A recent burglary in Moline
netted these criminals plenty. Our current suspects are driving a white
truck or van. They are described as olive-skinned, speaking in a foreign
accent not familiar to the victim. If you see these subjects in your
neighborhood please call police. If you know who is responsible you can
collect up to $1000 cash by calling our tip line 309-762-9500.

VANDALS DAMAGE DAVENPORT CEMETERY
June 6, 2010

will remain anonymous and receive up to $1000 cash for the arrest of
those responsible for this senseless damage.

QUAD CITY SEX OFFENDER WEBSITES

websites for our two states. With approximately 635 sex offenders in the
immediate Quad Cities we ask that you be aware of those required to
register by law in your neighborhood. Compliance checks of sex offenders
are a constant but it all starts with awareness by the neighborhood
where the offender lives. Educate yourself and learn how you can help us
with compliance checks by visiting these websites. In Iowa go to
www.iowasexoffender.com and in Illinois
www.isp.state.il.us/sor/. Neighbors are encouraged to contact their

offender. If you prefer to remain anonymous you can always contact Crime
Stoppers, 309-762-9500.

DAVENPORT POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN VAN
March 14, 2010

over the senseless murder and arson that took Harriet Crandall from us.
We have a $3000 reward for the caller who provides us the name of her
killer. Mrs. Crandall’s family deserves to find the closure only justice
can bring. They demand it. We all want them to have it. If you have any

FAMILY SEEKS JUSTICE IN MURDER OF AGNES
KENNEDY
February 24, 2008

murder victim on the 22nd of December 2007. Found lying in the north
alley in the 1800 block of west of 8th Street in Davenport. Agnes was

family and Crime Stoppers. The Board of Directors will provide their
maximum of $1000 and the family is providing $9000 for the tip that
leads to the arrest of a murderer. Davenport investigators believe
someone with the information they are looking for may be afraid to come
