CAR BURGLAR BUSY IN EAST MOLINE 2018-003129

Several vehicle burglaries have occurred in East Moline by the same suspect.  He is checking doors and entering unlocked cars, taking coins or anything of value. SUBSTATIONS BURGLARIZED IN ROCK ISLAND COUNTY 2018-007610

On the morning of August 1, 2018, Rock Island County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the radar station for the FAA near the Quad City Airport.  During the night someone had cut away a large section of fence to gain entry to the property.  A solar panel, 5’ by 8’ black Teske brand utility trailer and safety ladder were stolen.  The ladder is unique and is described as 6’ long and made of fiberglass.  It has a platform with a safety railing around it.  The ladder is valued at $1,700.  There was over $1,000 in damage done to the fence.  Then on August 7, 2018, a MidAmerican Energy substation near Orion, Illinois was entered by cutting through the chain link fence.  Copper wire was taken and $25,000 in damage was done to two voltage regulators.  Based on the damage and evidence at the scene, it is likely the suspect sustained severe burns.  There’s a good chance both these crimes and others that have occurred in Scott County were committed by the same individuals.  If you have information submit your tip here or call the tip line 309-762-9500.  All tips are anonymous and you could earn a cash reward.

MURDER OF CAINNAN GATES STILL UNSOLVED

BRAZEN CAR THEFT IN DAVENPORT
July 19, 2018

On Friday, July 6, 2018 at approx. 1:35 AM units responded to a business located at 1201 E Locust Street, in reference to a robbery and vehicle theft. The victim was inside the store and left his vehicle running. When he came outside the suspect was in his vehicle pulling out of the parking spot. The victim grabbed onto the car and was drug across the parking lot towards Bridge Avenue. Once at Bridge Avenue the suspect produced a handgun, pointed it at the victim and not so kindly asked him to step away from the vehicle. PURSE STOLEN FROM ELDERLY WOMAN - 2018-006707
June 28, 2018

On June 21, 2018, an 86 year old victim was getting portraits taken with her family at JC Penney in Southpark Mall when her purse was stolen.  She hung it on a hook in the back of the portrait area.  She later noticed it was missing.  The suspect was seen walking into the portrait studio and then leaving very quickly.  Surveillance video shows her with the victim’s purse tucked between her own purse and her body.  She is described as a black, female, heavy set, wearing glasses, a black head covering, black tank top and blue jeans. FELONY THEFT SUSPECT, CAN YOU IDENTIFY? 2018-006037

On June 4, 2018, this subject entered Walmart in Moline and proceeded to the rear of the store and is seen on video surveillance removing a speaker from the cart and carrying it into the restroom. When he exits the restroom he is no longer carrying the speaker.  He continues to select items and places them into a tote that was also selected. He then exits the store without paying for the merchandise. UNSOLVED MURDER - ANGEL HERRERA

On January 26, 2018, Davenport Police were called to the 1300 block of Warren Street and found that 17 year old Angel Herrera had been shot.  He was transported to the hospital where he died.  On Wednesday June 27, Angel would have turned 18 years old.  Angel’s family deserves to see justice.  Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest of the person responsible for Angel’s murder.

REWARD INCREASED TO $10,000 IN MURDER OF JASON ROBERTS
June 14, 2018

The Davenport Police Department is looking for your help to identify and arrest the person(s) responsible for the murder of Jason Roberts.

Davenport Police responded to a disturbance/shots-fired call about 2:06 a.m. near 800 W. 4th Street, where they found Jason Blair Roberts, 46, suffering from life-threatening injuries after being shot.  Medic EMS transported Roberts to Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street; he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Due to the support of private donations from the community and the maximum amount payable by QC Crime Stoppers, the reward amount has doubled over the past 48 hours, from $5,000 to $10,000.

On May 31st, a garage in the 500 block of 16th Avenue, Moline was burglarized.  The victim found his overhead door wide open. The only thing the victim could see was missing was a black and yellow voltage tester was valued at $40.00 and the overhead garage door sustained about $200 in damage.  The two suspects were caught on video. One of the suspects appears to be a light complexioned Hispanic. The other suspect is a white male. Both suspects look to be in their late teens or early twenties.
